UIC 002003.09 – Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Information from TCU
UIC 002003.09 (UIC 2003.09)
Code: 002003.09
Shortcode: 2003.09
Description:
This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UIC 002003.09 is generated when a data transfer problem occurs between the TCU and UIC. Reception of CAN messages regarding transmission ratios (status, desired and calculated) and/or general transmission information (rotational speeds, direction of travel, etc.) from the TCU control unit is intermittent or nonexistent. Intermittent reception could be due to a loose wire.
Reaction:
When this error occurs, the control unit may experience issues with interpreting transmission performance data, potentially leading to improper transmission operation or reduced efficiency.
Recommendations:
- Inspect CAN BUS Connections:
- Check all wiring and connectors between the TCU and UIC for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- Ensure that all connectors are securely attached and free from debris.
- Verify TCU Functionality:
- Use diagnostic tools to check the TCU for any internal faults or issues that may affect data transmission.
- Monitor CAN BUS Network:
- Use diagnostic tools to monitor the CAN BUS network for errors and identify any problematic areas.
- Verify the network’s termination and resistance to ensure it is within the specified range.
- Update Control Unit Software:
- Ensure the TCU and UIC software are up-to-date with the latest firmware and patches.
- Consult Technical Support:
- If the issue persists, contact John Deere technical support for further diagnostics and potential solutions.
Note:
Regular inspection and maintenance of the CAN BUS network can help prevent data transfer issues and ensure reliable operation.
