UIC 524169.30 – B88 Sensor Unit for Brake Pedal (Potentiometer), Adjustment Error at Left Pedal

UIC 524169.30 (UIC )

Code: 524169.30

Shortcode:

Description:

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UIC 524169.30 is generated when the following conditions are present for more than 10 minutes:

  • Voltage on the left potentiometer below 0.6 volts while the voltage on the right potentiometer is below 1.4 volts.
  • Voltage on the left potentiometer above 1.4 volts while the voltage on the right potentiometer is below 1.4 volts.
  • Voltage on the left potentiometer continuously above 1.3 volts (+/- 0.05 volts). This indicates the brake pedal is not adjusted correctly.

Reaction:

When this error occurs, the control unit may limit the functionality of the brake system to ensure safe operation and prevent potential damage.

Recommendations:

  • Inspect Brake Pedal Sensor Unit:
    • Check the B88 sensor unit for proper operation and ensure the left brake pedal potentiometer is functioning correctly.
  • Adjust Brake Pedal:
    • Ensure the brake pedal is correctly adjusted according to the manufacturer’s specifications to avoid continuous high or low voltage readings.
  • Verify Potentiometer Signals:
    • Confirm that the signals from both the left and right brake pedal potentiometers are within the expected range.
  • Check Wiring and Connections:
    • Inspect all wiring and connectors related to the brake pedal potentiometers for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  • Replace Faulty Components:
    • If the potentiometers or associated wiring are found to be faulty, replace or repair as necessary.
  • Consult Technical Support:
    • If the issue persists, contact John Deere technical support for further diagnostics and potential solutions.

Note:

Regular inspection and maintenance of the brake pedal sensor unit and its associated potentiometers can help prevent such faults and ensure reliable operation.
