UIC 524018.31 – S80 Reverse Drive Lever, Park Lock Switch and Neutral Switch or Power Zero Switch are Actuated Simultaneously for Too Long a Period
UIC 524018.31 (UIC )
Code: 524018.31
Shortcode:
Description:
This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UIC 524018.31 is generated when the control unit receives a switch combination from an undefined position of the reverse drive lever (intermediate position) over a longer period of time. The signal of one park lock switch (corner park or center park) is received together with the signal of the neutral switch or of the power zero switch for too long. This code can also be generated if the reverse drive lever is held in an intermediate position for too long.
Reaction:
When this error occurs, the control unit may prevent the tractor from moving or may limit its functionality to ensure safe operation and prevent potential damage.
Recommendations:
- Inspect Reverse Drive Lever:
- Check the reverse drive lever (S80) to ensure it moves smoothly and does not get stuck in an intermediate position.
- Verify Switch Signals:
- Confirm that the park lock switch, neutral switch, and power zero switch are functioning correctly and providing accurate signals.
- Check Wiring and Connections:
- Ensure all wiring and connectors related to the reverse drive lever and its switches are secure and free from damage or corrosion.
- Avoid Intermediate Position:
- Inform the operator to avoid holding the reverse drive lever in an intermediate position for prolonged periods.
- Replace Faulty Components:
- If any switches are found to be faulty, replace them as necessary.
- Consult Technical Support:
- If the issue persists and is accompanied by other related faults, contact John Deere technical support for further diagnostics and potential solutions.
Note:
Regular maintenance and proper use of the reverse drive lever can help prevent such faults and ensure reliable operation.
