John Deere and SurePoint Ag Systems form a joint venture

John Deere and SurePoint Ag Systems form a joint venture to manufacture fertilizer mixing systems for planters and sprayers

Deere and Company of Moline, Illinois, teamed up with SureFire Ag Systems and its SureFire Electronics subsidiary to form a joint venture.

SureFire Electronics, a leader in fertilizer blending systems for planters and sprayers, is based in Atwood, Kansas.

It has learned that the John Deere and SurePoint joint venture will operate under the SurePoint Ag Systems and SurePoint Electronics brand names.

SurePoint designs and manufactures liquid fertilizer and spraying systems, as well as waterless and irrigation injection equipment. The company excels at creating custom kits to upgrade fertilizer technology on planters, with instructions and commands that can help dealers install the kits for customers. SurePoint works with all brands to provide manufacturers with a wider selection of fertilizer application systems for planters and access to new technology. Through the joint venture, SurePoint will have access to John Deere technology to enhance the performance of a wide range of products.

SurePoint was founded in 2007 as SureFire Ag Systems by Josh and Lisa Walters, Blaine and Erin Ginter and Matt Walters, who saw an opportunity to help growers better apply fertilizers, chemicals and other inputs. SureFire Electronics was formed in 2012 to meet the need for electrical components that deliver precision. Together, uheggt companies SurePoint employs around 100 full-time staff.

SurePoint will retain its employees and sales channels and continue to operate in its current location. Employees, customers and business partners should not notice minor changes to day-to-day operations.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. But we think that insider information on the details of the deal will be available soon.
