DSM 523524.10 — Hotkey for Raise Limit, Fault

DSM 523524.10 (DSM )

Code: 523524.10

This diagnostic trouble code is triggered if the key remains continuously actuated for more than 60 seconds during initialization (after the ignition has been switched on), or if the key is registered as “actuated” for more than 10 minutes during operation.

When the hotkey for the raise limit remains actuated beyond the specified durations, the control unit may disable the functionality associated with the raise limit to prevent unintentional or unsafe operations.

  • Inspect Hotkey Mechanism: Check the physical condition of the raise limit hotkey for signs of sticking, damage, or wear that could cause it to remain actuated.
  • Test Hotkey Functionality: Use diagnostic tools to verify the proper operation of the raise limit hotkey. Ensure it is correctly registering presses and releases.
  • Check Electrical Connections: Ensure that the electrical connections to the raise limit hotkey are secure and free from corrosion or damage.
  • Update Control Software: Ensure that the control unit software is up-to-date to include any fixes or improvements for hotkey management.
  • Replace Faulty Components: If the hotkey or its associated wiring and connectors are found to be faulty, replace them with new or known-good parts.
  • Perform System Reset: After resolving the issue, reset the control unit to clear the fault code and verify normal hotkey operation through comprehensive testing.

Ensuring the proper functionality of control hotkeys is crucial for safe and efficient equipment operation. Regular inspection and maintenance of hotkey mechanisms can prevent faults and ensure accurate control input recognition.
