John Deere Recalls Lawn Tractors C380 C390

John Deere is recalling John Deere XC80 and XC90 lawn tractors due to possible brake failure!!!

In the midst of the summer season, a time when heavy lawn care is required. John Deere is recalling some of its most popular John Deere XC80 and XC90 lawn mowers following user complaints to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

As a result, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, has required John Deere to recall these lawn mower models.

This John Deere recall affects lawn tractors:

  • John Deere X380 with 48-inch deck (serial numbers 1M0X380AXNM132496 to 1M0X380AXNM132575)
  • John Deere X380 with 54-inch deck (serial numbers M0X380BXNM131269, 1M0X380BXNM131261, 1M0X380BXNM131277 to 1M0X380BXNM131302, 1M0X380BXNM131306 to 1M0X380BXNM131310 and 1M0X380BXNM13131312)
  • John Deere X390 with 48-inch deck (serial numbers 1M0X390AXNM131261 to 1M0X390AXNM131295 and 1M0X390AXNM131298 to 1M0X390AXNM131300)

Reason for the recall.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The wheel hubs on these John Deere tractors were improperly manufactured. This problem can lead to wheel hub failure. Which can cause the brakes to fail. The tractor will not be able to brake or move forward, which creates the risk of a collision and injury.

John Deere confirmed the recall and has decided to repair these lawn tractors at no charge.

They also clarified that the recall was voluntary as part of the company’s CPSC accelerated recall process. The accelerated recall is initiated by firms that are committed to working with the CPSC to quickly announce the recall and take steps to protect consumers.

“The repairs are part of John Deere’s resolution of this recall. The recall will affect about 160 John Deere tractors from the U.S. and 30 such machines in Canada. “

John Deere has received three reports of these lawn tractors not braking properly. There have been reports of relatively minor injuries such as cuts and bruises.

The John Deere XC80 and XC90 lawn mowers went on sale in the U.S. and Canada, as well as in other countries from April through July 2022. The XC80 and XC90 lawn tractors were also sold through John Deere.com, marketplaces, and other online retailers. The John Deere XC80 and XC9 lawn tractors are priced from $4,500 to $6,500.

John Deere encourages customers to check their lawn tractor models before using it. If you have a recalled product, John Deere lawn mowers – stop using it immediately and contact an authorized John Deere dealer.

Repairs from an authorized dealer will be free of charge. Likewise, John Deer dealers, if possible, will contact customers themselves directly who have recently purchased John Deere XC80 and XC90 lawn tractors. And have left their contact information with the dealers.
