John Deere will upgrade 7R Series tractors in 2023

The upgrades will primarily affect the steering system. With these improvements, tractor operators will get more control in the upgraded John Deere 7R Series tractors.

John Deere has upgraded its 2023 7R tractor.

Among the new options and upgrades in the 2023 7R Series tractors, we would like to highlight this reactive steering mode, which will allow for better control and hauling on public roads.

The new 2023 version of the 7R tractors, which are designed for hard maneuvering, will be enhanced by upgrades in the John Deere 7R steering system, increasing the number of hydraulic components by one and a half times. Which will provide increased steering and maneuverability on large front wheels and when using heavy front implements.

Other upgrades besides jet control that John Deere 7R tractors will receive in 2023 will include B.O.M. and hydraulic power control.

B.O.M. is a power take-off that transfers power from the tractor to the implement, via a connection from the implement’s drive shaft to the B.O.M. shaft on the tractor itself.

As a result, the upgraded 7R Series – even from third-party manufacturers – will benefit from triple-mounted MoCo’s and large bale balers.

The PTO is a power take-off box, and it transfers power from the tractor to the PTO-driven machine or attachment through its connection to the drive shaft from the machine to the tractor’s short PTO shaft.

John Deere says the new reactive steering mode will make John Deere 7R Series tractors feel more confident on public roads, comparable to a car. This steering enhancement and upgrade will make it easier for operators to maintain a straight line and keep the steering wheel in neutral, without having to struggle with the steering wheel.

Another option on 7R Series tractors is ActiveCommand Steering II, which helps prevent oversteering and ensures an easier touch on the steering wheel when quick, responsive steering action is required.

Also available as an option will be a centralized tire pressure assistance system, developed in partnership between John Deere and PTG, that gives operators the option to press a button to increase or decrease tire pressure as needed with higher pressure on level ground and lower pressure off-road or in the field.

Since 2014, all John Deere 7R Series tractors are equipped with the e23 transmission, which is a 100% manual transmission – PowerShift. Thereby providing the tractor with an infinite number of gears.

Eight John Deere models with engines ranging from 250 to 350 horsepower are available in the updated 7R Series.
