Reindeer and John Deere:
Aurora celebrates the season with a parade of tractors
IN AURORA Nebraska – Santa chose John Deere over his reindeer.
Hamilton County, which is Nebraska’s leader in corn production, held a tractor parade.
Farmers decorated their tractors with garlands, and Christmas decorations. And Santa rode on some of them.
The annual lighted tractor parade is part of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce’s Come Home to Christmas event Saturday for small businesses.
A dozen tractors drove through the main square in front of the courthouse in Aurora, wrapping up a day of events held throughout the county.
One tractor was decorated as Rudolph, while others featured Christmas trees and elves.
Many young people participated in the event, which has become an annual tradition.
