Update for John Deere 5G Tractor Series

Update for John Deere 5G Tractor Series

John Deere 5G Series tractors now offer greater model diversity and comfort for a variety of high-value crop tasks. The series has undergone a complete upgrade for all tractors above 75 hp, including five new, more powerful models in GV, GN, GF and GL configurations.

A key new feature of the 5G is the five-speed Hi-Lo PowrReverser TM Eco transmission, which allows 40 km/h driving at reduced engine speeds, making tractors more economical and comfortable to drive.

To meet individual customer requirements, new models have been added to the 5G series. Chief among them are new 5115 tractors for GF, GN and GV model ranges, which develop up to 120 hp from the 3.6L four-cylinder engine. In addition, John Deere offers more power versatility to handle the tightest rows in the vineyard with the GV lineup getting two new power ranges – 5105G and 5115G with 105 and 120 hp max power, respectively.

Especially for the operator

The redesigned cab is now better adapted to the driver’s needs. The new design offers improved ergonomics as well as more leg room, which increases driving comfort and makes working with the new 5G tractors an even more pleasant task. The significantly reduced hood height provides unparalleled visibility to the front. Additional visibility, especially at night, is also provided by the optional LED lighting.

While the new cab makes work more comfortable, driver health is also improved. An optional Category IV filtration system (in accordance with EN 15695), which is integrated into the driver’s cab roof and provides protection against dust, harmful aerosols and vapors, is also available.

Another feature of the latest 5G Series tractors is the new 5″ digital display, which displays important vehicle information centrally in front of the driver and even allows you to conveniently change various tractor and machine settings.

Increased efficiency

The new tractors are not only easier to operate, but also smarter. The tractors can be optionally equipped with ISOBUS and retrofitted with the JD-Link telematics module. This makes it possible to connect tractors to a John Deere free-of-charge operations center, saving you time and money. Operations can be more easily digitized and scheduled because advanced fleet management tools come free with the tractor.

Tractors can be equipped with comprehensive features such as dynamic steering and automatic traction for even better control of operations on steep slopes and narrow row spacings. With dynamic steering, the steering resistance of the steering wheel changes automatically depending on the speed. At lower speeds, the required steering effort is significantly reduced, especially in tight corners, while higher torque on the steering wheel is possible when driving at highway speeds. This increases driver comfort and tractor control. The AutoClutch function makes maneuvering on slopes easier because the clutch is engaged by the brake pedal.

Additional upgrades for the 5G Series

In gardens with low-hanging pergolas, the John Deere 5G Series also offers an open station (OOS) or low-profile cab. While the new 105 hp tractor for the GL line offers more power versatility, the larger driver’s seat offers greater comfort when working in the garden.

Tractors up to 75 hp have already received the Stage V upgrade, retaining the familiar and proven features of the predecessor models.
